Genuinely surprised and so honored to report that PAPER CHAINS was awarded Best Middle Grade Novel at the Whitney Awards. I got to dress up and be fancy and even give a speech, in which I was so excited I called my agent my editor but hopefully also said some things that made sense. What a night, what an honor, and most of all, what a wonderful, supportive community of authors I am lucky enough to be part of.
This little book was also named a Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year, a Children’s Book Review Best Book of 2017, A Mighty Girl’s Best Books of 2017, and was an AML Middle Grade Novel Award Finalist. So grateful for all the love that’s been shown to PAPER CHAINS.
