So many exciting things have happened in the last few months! Starred review! Rights to Like Magic sold in Norway, Sweden, and Finland! Book signings and incredible emails from young readers and all kinds of surreal and magical things. But today, it’s time to focus on the next book, and I’m thrilled to say that it’s coming along beautifully! I just turned in my last round of edits and I have seen a gorgeous almost-final cover that I can’t wait to show you. But the news today is that I’m allowed to share the title with you!
From the beginning, this was a story about connection–between family and friends, of course, but also the important connections of community and culture that make us who we are. It was my dear friend and fellow author Helen Boswell who came up with a title that so perfectly symbolizes these connections and also ties into the story itself. (Maybe someday I will title one of my own books, but don’t hold your breath.) So without further ado, and because you’ve already seen it in bright blue down there, the title of my next book is…
Paper Chains will be published by HarperCollins next fall, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the same team that made Like Magic so…well, magical.
